Fieldtrip to Vietnam 2016

MGR visited the Luc Yen District, which is the main production source of Vietnam in the last September. In the trip we had reached numerous mineral mines there and a lot of fine minerals were seen. The journey to the mines was hard but exciting! Since the mines are all quite far away from the city and roads are not well laid. We had to take a ride on the motorbike to there. It was an interesting experience to take a ride over mountains! After reaching the mines, a lot of minerals could be seen such as Spinel, Ruby, Sappire and Tourmaline. One is worth mentioned that is the Cobalt Blue Spinel there. It was really fascinating to see this rare spicies with the saturated blue color spinel! Some mines even need you to climb up a mountain to reach after you arrived the region. Cong Truoi is the example. Cong Truoi is one of the biggest Marble mountain mines in Vietnam. It is a bit tiring to climb up there but it's worth. This is because the Marble mine is really spectacular and a lot of raw Marble-hosted minerals can be seen there. Besides, there is another delighting part in the journey. Since there are many of alluvial deposits near the river of the mountains, a lot of minerals like spinel and ruby can be found in the sendiments close to the river. That means you can make it like a treasure hunting and find the minerals for yuourselfs, how wonderful! And of course in our jorney we......HAHA!!

In conclusion, this trip to Luc Yen is really a good exploration on minerals. It gave better understanding on the condition of minerals in Vietnam and the process is memorble too. We look forward to the chance that we can have a trip to Vietnam together with you and share this wonderful journey to you!
